Philippine government and Moro Islamic Liberation Front peace mechanisms have moved to reduce tensions tied to a clan feud, or "rido," in the Bangsamoro region, pna.gov.ph reports.
The unrest has centered on the Special Geographic Area of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, where sporadic clashes were reported, according to pna.gov.ph. A police officer was wounded in the violence, the same outlet said.
Philstar.com reported that the officer was hurt in crossfire between feuding Moro partisans. Inquirer.net, meanwhile, reported that a police officer was wounded in a gun attack at a checkpoint in the SGA-BARMM, and separately that hundreds of people fled the area because of gunfire.
